Snow Day Activities to keep your class engaged during the winter months.

Here are three packets to keep your kiddos engaged during the long winter months.
This first one is a favorite of mine as it includes all my "flakey friend" stories.  Six stories that include word work, writing, and comprehension.

I created these to review and provide practice for many of the math concepts we have covered to this point.  Many are dice games that I plan to use during the long winter months of indoor recess.

And I love beginning each day while lunch count is taken, notes are collected, and all buses arrive with these review activities titled "snowy day WARM UPS"!
So much fun and so valuable.

Finally a little freebie for you!!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.
See you when we return.
Yep!! DECEMBER:)

Brrrrrr...It's cold here!

So that means lots of indoor recess!
I am sharing today a winter themed activity and some "blustery" crafts.
The making word templates are FREE and I think perfect as a learning tool and vocabulary enhancer.

These are just some adorable winter crafts with a "snowy" theme!!

These little guys and gals can stay up all winter long!!
Who would have thought we'd be thinking about snow in November???!!!

I will get patterns out soon for you to use but those of you who are crafty can probably just figure it out yourselves.  Bundle Up!  It's cold out there.

Happy Thanksgiving Freebie!

I hope you will each enjoy this little freebie I created.  It is a favorite story of mine and I am anxious to use these activities with the kiddos in my class. There is no craft with this but I bet we all have enough turkey patterns.  There is word work, writing, and story recall included as well as vocabulary for posting.

Journeys Unit Three...Lessons and Word Assessment

As I work through the Journeys Common Core Curriculum I enjoy creating lessons that will meet my needs and enhance what the kiddos need to learn.  It has been fun.  Today I FINALLY finished Unit Three which I am so excited to teach.  There are great topics such as Animal Groups, The Ocean, Rules and Laws, The Rainforest, and Seasons.  Each Lesson I create could actually be taught independently of the program.  The packets are packet with themed filled activities.
As always I have included a freebie for you.  Tomorrow I will have a little Thanksgiving goodie for you!!

Veterans Day for the Primary Child...Crafts and Activities!

As I was planning for next week I realized I needed some materials to support the education on Veterans Day.
I have decided to offer it for free through Tuesday and then put it up for sale.
Enjoy it while you can.

Here they are after the fingerprint painting.  So cute!!

Friday Freebie!!

I have been sooooo bad about blogging but NOT because I have forgotten about it.
School...imagine that has gotten in the way!
Progress Reports, Conferences, New Month to decorate for and more!
But you can usually always count on me for the Friday Freebie.
I just finished copying this wonderful packet and can't wait to get started!
This is a little freebie that I just love.
If you like it you can copy it here.
Then this is the newsletter I use to send information home for the week.  I tried something new and did it in Power Point so you can type you info in.  Fingers crossed it works.  If not I will send a PDF version.

And these are the cutest little Native Americans to decorate with.  I am so excited.

Have a good weekend everyone.  I know I plan to...BIG MSU vs OSU game.  I am a Sparty fan!

Parent Teacher Conferences

It is always so nice meeting with parents to share academic and social growth their child is making.  We are lucky as we have amazing parent support and get close to 100% turn out in every classroom.  I am sure this is why our success rate is so high at our building.  When you have a team of people working together it is always helpful.  My friend posted this on her facebook page and I think it is perfect for my next two days!
