Punctuation...and a freebie!

This book is delightful...if you have not read it to your class yet please find it in the library and get started.  It is perfect for sharing the idea of punctuation.  My class just loved the story and it really has made a difference with punctuation in the classroom and in our writing.
Because the kiddos enjoyed the story so I created a packet to support practice and activities for our writing rotations.  I can't help but say...Try it!  You'll like it!

Our Arctic Adventure

So excited for the upcoming study.  Teaching is so much fun when you use a theme.  It really helps bring the real world into the classroom.  Bundle up...it could get "chilly" in here!

It was a "fist bump" day!

SNOW DAY!

Yikes one day back and a SNOW DAY!
I was so disappointed because with too many days off the students really start to lose the momentum we are building.
So...........I decided to create a "snow day" or it could be a "sub day" packet for the kids!!
It is filled with activities to practice, reinforce, and enrich all built around the story I Wear A Jacket in the Snow.  Even if kiddos don't have the book it is online and activities can be completed without it.  For some it may encourage a trip to the library.
I just want to keep them focus and making progress!!
Hi all!  This is a "for purchase product".  Here is the link.

Gingerbread Friend Travels

Check out all the places our Gingerbread Friends have been.
More are still coming in!

First Day Back!

Welcome 2015!
The kiddos were excited to be back and once I got my room back in order from the cleaning crews I was ready too!
We had so much fun talking about the New Year 2015.
We read Squirrel's New Year's Resolution.  Following the story we identified the Problem, Character, and How the problem was solved.  Some students chose to use text to get the answers.
Students then wrote their own New Year's Resolutions.
I just loved them.

My favorite was the little Korean girl who wanted to learn to read her book.
Can you tell what is is written in?

We also talked about ways New Year's Eve was celebrated and read about New Year's Traditions.
All in all a great day!

The day also included other activities from this packet like ABC Order, and writing.
Can't wait for Chinese New Year.
Oh and don't forget the Happy New Year Cootie Catcher Freebie!!
