Owls...Informational Text and Activities

"OWL" bet you will enjoy using this packet to reinforce reading informational text and reporting on the key facts in the text as well as working with vocabulary and learning definitions to enhance comprehension.
Below you will see some of the colorful vocabulary available for posting.
There is also the owl craft.
I like to make a big tree on a bulletin board and then add the student's owls to it.

Informational text comes in the form of a mini book.
This is followed by reading for detail sheets where students can use the text to report on key facts and details.

There are also three print, fold and read books.
Night "Owls"
Life Cycle
Owl Vision
Using literature can also be an opportunity for gathering details about owls.
One of my favorites is Owl Babies.
Using this fiction story students can still learn about owls.

The activities that follow are:
Character study
Story elements
Prediction
Next I suggest two non fiction books with activities to follow.

Using these forms students can gather information to report on owls.
Final write pages are also included at three different levels.

There are word work activities as well.
Perfect for your literacy center.

Not shown are 4 math games for partners.
