Ocean Friends

Let's Explore Our Favorite Ocean Friends
Humpback Whale
Great White Shark
Bottlenose Dolphin
Seahorse
Sea Turtle
Jellyfish
Octopus
Crab
Sea Shells
The packet begins with some easy crafts to accompany the each ocean friend and two children that will create a delightful bulletin board.
Using the craft for each friend there are several options:
Create an ocean scene and have students make the "friends" to add to the ocean.
Have students report on the "friends".  On one side of a piece of construction paper put the report and on the other side the "friend creation".
You can pick just a few "friends" to introduce or you can divide them up among the class.
Your choice and so much fun!!
Perfect to include research in the classroom.


There are two choices for the mini books.
One has "life" pictures in color of each ocean friend.
The other contains black and white clip are of each ocean friend.


Each ocean friend has three pieces of informational text to choose from:
Life picture
Color clip art
Black and White clip art
These are followed by a graphic organizer for collecting facts about their ocean friend. There are three different designs rotated through the "friends".
Next a graphic organizer for writing followed by a page for writing about their ocean friend. There are three different designs rotated through the "friends".
After reporting the student's have an activity sheet.
Blue Whale:  A whale is a mammal.  Use text to define a mammal.
Great White Shark:  Sharks are great swimmers.  I am really good at ___?
Bottlenose Dolphin:  Dolphins communicate with one another.  How do I communicate?
Octopus:  An octopus has 8 arms.  Let's compare.
Seahorse:  A seahorse uses camouflage to protect itself.  Let's make words with camouflage.
Crabs:  Let's Compare and Contrast
Sea Turtle:  Life Cycle...Cut and Paste/Write
Jellyfish:  Tentacles are used to catch food and protect itself.  Let's make words from tentacles.
Sea Shells:  Definition of a mollusk.   Decorate a shell.
Take a peek!!











This product is more cross curricular and would fit well with the resource above!
Both are filled with activities to create an amazing ocean themed study.
