Let's Write November!

I absolutely love these two writing resources for November.
The first one comes with adorable crafts to showcase writing and the second is a complete monthly writing program WITH lesson plans and literature suggestions.

This packet is designed to provide students with practice using the CCSS.

This writing packet has three levels to provide DIFFERENTIATION in your writing program!


November focuses on Narrative, Opinion, and Informative writing with the topics: Turkey, Election, Field Trip, Signs of Winter

Each of the four lessons come with Lesson Plans and Literature Suggestion

The packet includes two sections.

November will provide practice for understanding NOUNS...plural, proper

Each of these skills will enhance student writing skills.









Slide One has students reading some simple text about November.

It includes pictures with labels to support those needing it.

Students are then asked to share things they are thankful for.

Slide Two is a lesson on using the word because to add detail to their topic.

I am thankful for ______________  because ____________________.

Slide Three begins with text about The First Thanksgiving.

Students then write about The First Thanksgiving using the text.

Slide Four is a lesson on punctuation.

Reading sentences about Thanksgiving students add the correct punctuation. (click and drag)

Slide Five provides informational text about the Pilgrims.

 Students are encouraged to use key details to write.

Slide Six is a lesson on adjectives.

Students will use suggested adjectives to describe a turkey.

Slide Seven is an assessment.  Students will write about two different topics.

Pictures and labels are provided to support writing.
