FROGGY Goes to School...Paper Pencil...Distance Learning

Jonathan London has done a perfect job in this story to share this fictional character FROGGY on his first day of school.  Your class will giggle and recognize several activities that are similar to their first day.
FLIP FLOP!!
There is a paper pencil resource as well as a Google Slides presentation ideal for distance learning or a literacy center.

The resource begins with students recalling key events in the story using sequence words.
Next students read about Froggy being a fictional character and answer key questions about the story they just read.
Students will read about the author Jonathan London and then have fun sharing about Froggy's dream and the author's purpose.
Froggy's day may be similar to their day so students will write about their first day...beginning, middle and end.
Froggy LOVED his name tag and saying his name. Students will look at their name and identify syllables, vowels, consonants, number of letters.
The resource ends with some addition and subtraction problems to solve with Froggy.

I am so excited about this "back to school" packet.
It has everything needed to get you ready to "hop" into the first week of school.
You and your students will love to begin the year with a darling story about Froggy and his first day. It is perfect for helping kiddos relate their first day to the first day Froggy experienced.
How does FROGGY get to school?
What does FROGGY have for breakfast?
How does FROGGY feel about going to school?
Does FROGGY have a name tag?
What is a rule in FROGGY's class?
Perfect for Text to Self
There is an adorable Froggy craft to decorate your hall or a bulletin board in your classroom.
Twelve vocabulary cards are ready for posting around the room for "write the room" or for putting on your vocabulary chart. They are related to the story.
