I love providing practice for the students with sight words.
To me sight words are like the "math facts" of operations.
Familiarity with sight words builds fluency.
Check this out!
There are 42 sight words altogether.
They are prepared in sets of 6.
Each word has a card for posting.
The black and white cards I use for coloring, cutting apart, hole punching and putting them on a ring.
At the end of assessment those words read easily 3 times get to go home. (put check marks on the card) The others stay on the ring for practice. Continue to add words to ring as they are introduced.
Practice is provided for each word.
These can be used in so many ways.
There are three practice pages including all six of the sight words.
Assessment includes a text for reading and then having the student write and draw using their predictions.
There is also a growing checklist.
