Teaching about Labor Day with Click Clack Moo and When I Grow Up!

Finding books for the youngest readers about Labor Day is difficult, but not this one! Farmer Brown’s cows have discovered the typewriter, and it has led to nothing but trouble for Farmer Brown. They’ve typed up their demands for electric blankets on cold nights and the the Farmer says no way, the cows go on strike, typing up a notice that there will be no milk for today.
This story is ideal to fit with the Labor Day packet.
Negotiate, strike, labor

Billy's classmates  never thought about careers in snail training or sumo wrestling before, but Billy will share with them his dream jobs and the endless potential for careers! This book celebrates  creativity and the endless possibilities in career choices by inviting children to imagine what they want to be when they grow up.
