Arctic Animals...Read, Write, Report...Interactive Google Slides

Let's explore...Brrrrrrr!
This resource is all about reading informational text, collecting key data and then reporting about it.
The animals highlighted are:
Arctic Fox
Arctic Wolf
Arctic Hare
Orca Whale
Polar Bear
Harp Seal
Snow Owl
Walrus
Each animal includes informational text and then two graphic organizers to choose from. 
The third slide is for the student to report about the animal using the key details they collected from the informational text.  
The final slides include a vocabulary study...definition/vocabulary match
Word work...syllables, ABC order 
and 
Who grows up in the snow?...match baby name to the animal.
Actual photos are used and each slide is interactive for student responses.
The first slide describes the Arctic and shares details and location.

This packets main focus is using Informational Text to gather details and report. These skills meet several standards required for students. 

Fiction stories are also suggested that your class will LOVE reading and listening to.

There are 3 crafts that can be used for bulletin boards or hanging.

The animals included are;

Walrus, Arctic Fox, Arctic Wolf, Seal, Polar Bear, Caribou, Moose, Snow Owl, Penguin, Arctic Hare, Orca Whale

Students will also study the Inuit People who inhabit this area.

Before your Arctic Study the class will fill out a What I Know, What I Wonder, What I Hope to Learn

Use this to assess background knowledge students have and how much prep needs to be done so they have a basic understanding of the Arctic.

A page and picture of each animal is included to gathering information.

There is a mini book which includes each animal and information about them.

These are ideal for students to gather key facts and master key vocabulary.

I love them because students can highlight, circle and write on them.
