Arctic Animals

We paired up the Interactive Google Slides and the Paper Pencil Resource to create a strong classroom team.
Take a peek at both resources below.

Let's explore...Brrrrrrr!

This resource is all about reading informational text, collecting key data and then reporting about it.

The animals highlighted are:

Arctic Fox

Arctic Wolf

Arctic Hare

Orca Whale

Polar Bear

Harp Seal

Snow Owl

Walrus

Each animal includes informational text and then two graphic organizers to choose from.

The third slide is for the student to report about the animal using the key details they collected from the informational text.

The final slides include a vocabulary study...definition/vocabulary match

Word work...syllables, ABC order

and

Who grows up in the snow?...match baby name to the animal.

Actual photos are used and each slide is interactive for student responses.

The first slide describes the Arctic and shares details and location.

Your class will love exploring the North and South Poles. (Arctic/Antarctica)

Brrrrr...

This packets main focus is using Informational Text to gather details and report. These skills meet several standards required for students.

Fiction stories are also suggested that your class will LOVE reading and listening to.

There are 3 crafts that can be used for bulletin boards or hanging.

Students will also study the Inuit People who inhabit this area.

Before your Arctic Study the class will fill out a What I Know, What I Wonder, What I Hope to Learn

Use this to assess background knowledge students have and how much prep needs to be done so they have a basic understanding of the Arctic.

A page and picture of each animal is included to gathering information.

There is a mini book which includes each animal and information about them.

These are ideal for students to gather key facts and master key vocabulary.
