Over the years I have read many books to children but the all time favorite still remain the David series by David Shannon!  Maybe it's because students can relate to David and his shenanigans or maybe just because you can't help but smile at the trouble AND they are perfect for the beginning of the year when you are setting up rules to follow in the classroom or online!

I created these for you to use.  If you are online I would make a slide show.

If you are face to face create a bulletin board using them.

On the yes and no pages I will take photos to place in the picture box.

If you are online try and get parents involved in helping to add a photo.

Again these are ways I think you will begin to engage students in feeling supported and involved.

No David! Favorite David Shannon Stories

I think this is always one of the first books my students reach for each year.

By the end of the school year each of the David stories are well LOVED and often need replacing.

They are ideal for teaching class rules and learning from your mistakes.

This packet has vocabulary for posting and a cute little craft.

It includes differentiated activities to accommodate different levels of students.

I love the class rule booklet for each student to make, read and reread!

There is differentiated word work using ABC order and vocabulary from the stories.

The packet also includes a section on David Shannon which makes it ideal for an author study.

To see if students are comprehending there is a true/false and a fact/opinion.

I always encourage students to use the text while completing these.

Each of the David stories has an activity to accompany it.

Many are differentiated.

Finally there are 4 opportunities to look at David's character.
