Holidays Around the World...Interactive Google Slides and Paper Pencil Activities!!

 

It is always interesting learning about the different holidays celebrated around the world.
This interactive google slide resource shares 7 holidays and the traditions that accompany them.
Diwali, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Christmas, Las Posadas, Dongzhi, St. Lucia
Students will read informational text and then use this text to share about the holiday.
This slide is followed by Match Us Up (vocabulary and pictures to click and drag) to a variety  of word work activities such as syllables, ABC order and parts of speech that use click and drag activities.)
















If you enjoyed the Interactive Google Slides the paper pencil activities are very engaging.
Each holiday has a craft as well.
The sample shown here is Diwali.
Every holiday follows a similar group of activities.

Speaking of Holidays Around the World let's not forget this delightful one that people celebrate with songs, greenery, games, lights, families, gifts, feasts, Santa and the birth of Baby Jesus.

Colorful vocabulary for posting and a page with "fun facts".

Informational text that can be used for guided reading with a graphic organizer for fact recall.

Writing:  narrative, informational, sensory and how to!

Final write pages with a cover for a class book.
Also a page for students to draw or list their "wishes".

Word Work:
ABC Order, Parts of Speech, Syllables, Making Words, Word Search

A math game focusing on addition, subtraction and ending with greater than or less than.
