The First Thanksgiving

The perfect November packet filled with informational text for guided reading, comprehension activities, graphic organizers for gathering key facts, writing and word work.
Ideal for embedding your curriculum into a current theme.

Check out this cute page toppers, or they could be used as a craft, for showcasing your student writing. Simple and patterns are included.

There are so many wonderful literature pieces for read aloud time.

There is a mini book and two print, fold and read booklets for gathering facts.
I love these materials for guided reading.
Students can highlight key facts, highlight vocabulary as well as read and reread the story.
These texts are followed by True/False Reading for Detail.  I love using this for assessment as well as encouraging students to go back through the text to find the correct answers.
There is a time line and two activities for making connections.

Above you will see more graphic organizers used to collect information for writing.
Again I encourage students to use their text.
With students needing more support we complete one together using the text.
Directly below you will find the final write pages differentiated for leveled writers.

Also included in the packet are activities for Compare and  Contrast.
Native American life to Colonial American life as well as our own life.
How are we alike yet different?

There is also a data collection page for would you rather have lived as a Native American or a Colonial American.
Word work is plentiful to encourage vocabulary building.
Word Search, ABC Order, Making Words and Parts of Speech
The colorful vocabulary cards are ideal for posting.
