Grandparents Day! September 12th, 2021

There is nothing more fun then celebrating Grandparents Day in the classroom and if possible with student's grandparents!  It is time spent that neither the grandparent or the student will forget!!

I like to pair up these Interactive Google slides with every theme I teach.
First on the whiteboard they re a marvelous visual.  The activities pages can be done as a whole group for brainstorming and students can then complete their own page in the computer center or on their own computer.  Finally these can be completed anywhere and best of all they are interactive using click and drag as well as typing.
Slide one:  Sing about grandparents and then students click and drag to share what they like to do with their grandparents.
Slide two: Talks about GENERATIONS and how grandparents are alike yet different.
Students then make words by clicking and dragging the letters in generations to make words.
Slide three:  Students create a poster about one of their grandparents.
Slide four:  Students make predictions about reading with grandparents.  Have them share their ideas first and the share the delightful story "How to Read to Grandma or Grandpa".
Slide five:  Students sequence pictures on "how to make cookies".
Slide six:  Using the word box students create a letter to send to one of their grandparents.
Each of these slides matches lessons taught in the Paper Pencil Resource and together they make a perfect team.

Pair the slides and the paper pencil for the perfect classroom team!

In my class each year we invite our grandparents for lunch.
If a child does not have a grandparent that can attend we welcome them to invite someone else!
Having Grandparents visit is also a special way to compare and contrast the past and present as well as look at generations and families.

There is an invitation as well as an activity for the class to do with their grandparents comparing the classroom today to the classroom the grandparent attended.
I also love giving rewards for the grandparent who traveled the farthest, had the most grandchildren, etc.
What a fabulous way to find out about the guests.
Each child's desk looks like this.
We have hugs and kisses as well as the craft shared in the packet.

Simply the best day ever!!
If a grandparent can't come allow the child to invite someone else.

The activities are similar for Grandma and Grandpa so only Grandma is listed here.

  1. I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of theliver already present. I started on antiviral medications whichreduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test afterthe 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
