December Kindergarten Word Work

December Word Work includes:  want  to   get   now   give   from   find   many
With this packet students will work, write, spell and read using the words for the month while completing enjoyable and meaningful activities!

Assessment pages for writing and spelling.
Final assessment for reading, writing, and spelling growing with each week's new words.

Cards for introduction and posting.
I have the students decorate the plain words, cut them out and put them on a ring.  They can practice reading them throughout.  At the end of the month if they recognize the word it goes home and if not it stays on the ring for more practice.
I love the cut and paste activities included for each word.
Here are sample pages of practicing printing the word, writing with the word and reading the word.

December Print Fold and Read!

These mini books are simple to make.
NO CUTTING, NO COLLATING.
Print one page for each student.
Fold in half and into quarters and you are ready to read.
These are great because students can read with a partner, highlight unknown words, reread, and finally take home to build a library.
I like to have the students open the book after reading and the draw or write on the back about what they learned.

Let's Write December

Four weeks of writing for December with grammar skills included.
Focus on adjectives, suggested literature, writing focused on sequence, opinion and narrative.

December Writing with Page Topper

Create an application for Santa's Reindeer.
Writing with page topper.
What makes the perfect Elf?
Your class will enjoy the activities and you will enjoy showcasing their writing.

Let's Write December

"I BELIEVE" IN THIS PRODUCT TO DEVELOP STRONG WRITERS
Four favorite stories:
Bear Stays Up
How to Catch Santa
It's Christmas David
Click, Clack, Ho! Ho! Ho!

December Workbook Cover
LITERATURE shared here for December is the story How To Catch Santa.
Lesson plans ARE included.

Each of the 4 lessons begin with grammar practice they are asked to embed in their writing.
This one focuses on ADJECTIVES.
There are two practice pages for each grammar lesson.
Next the story is read.
Following the reading there is discussion and differentiated pre writes for students to gather their thoughts.
I like to do one as a whole group first before sending them off to do their own.
All of these suggestions are included in the lesson plans.

Once their thoughts are gathered students complete a "first write".
Again there are leveled pages depending where your students are.
Editing is included.
There is a student edit and then a teacher edit.
After the student edit I collect papers and later that day or night correct them for my teacher edit.
Those who need continued support I meet with them the next day for help.
I DO BELIEVE IN STUDENTS CORRECTING AND CHANGING THEIR MISTAKES!
Now it is time for students to re write and create a "showcase" product.
Each lesson takes about one week.
Cover for class book.
Page for illustrations.
