Dad's First Day...Google Slides

Here is an adorable book about "Dad" and his first day back to school. This book has a twist ...It is Oliver's first day BUT dad's tummy hurts and Oliver is excited to go back to school. This story accompanied by the activities will delight your kiddos.
The pictures are lively and the story line one that your class will relate to.
How do you think your parents felt on your first day?
Oliver and his dad had a wonderful summer.  Students recall what Oliver did and what they did.
When it is time to return to school Oliver and his dad get ready.  What would you pack in your lunch?  What would you pack in you backpack?
On the first day Oliver's dad is NERVOUS.  Students find a synonym for nervous, share what they get nervous about and tell what happened because dad was nervous.
Oliver and his dad take the car to school.  Students share how they get to school.
Oliver had a great day at school.  Students recall three things Oliver did and what the favorite part of their day was.
After the first day Oliver and his dad get ice cream.  Students share what they would like to do after the first day.
And I just added "drop and drag" slides for the younger learner.

How to Cook a Turkey!

I just love reading student stories on "how to" cook a turkey.
This packet is ideal for preparing a writing project engaging your students in writing about how they think a turkey is cooked.

Colorful vocabulary is provided as well as suggested "how to" sentences.

Graphic organizers for gathering thoughts.  Room on most for writing or drawing.

Final writes will be fun using these three leveled final write pages.
Put them together, add the cover and you have a recipe book to read.

November Themed Addition to 12 Center and Activities

Gobble Gobble what fact is that?
Find the number that it will match!
LOVE this center.
Set the turkeys out 1 to 12.
Mix up feathers.
Students put feathers on turkey that matches.
When a number is finished put on the hat!!

And these are so much fun.
Use them for sequencing or matching the number word to the number.

Finally look at these wonderful activities for practice.
One is a partner game.
Here you see the example for 4 BUT the others are similar with different items to color.
