Constitution Day!

Constitution Day ... September 17th ... Paper/Pencil or Distance Learning

2020 is the 229th anniversary of the Constitution.

In 2004 it was decided that each educational institution that receives Federal funds for a fiscal year is required to hold an educational program about the U.S. Constitution for its students.

How To Get Your Teacher Ready

Your students get ready to go to school.

They know all the secrets to have a successful first day and ways to enjoy events all through the school year. This being the case they are anxious to share these secrets with their teacher.

This delightful story is written by Jean Reagan and illustrated by Lee Wildish.

I have created two resources to accompany the story.

One resource is paper pencil.

The second are Google Slides.

The Google Slides have a small clip for students to read and then an activity accompanies it.

Slide One: The first day of school. What did the students do to make their teacher comfortable and what did their teacher do to make them comfortable?

Slide Two: Activities during the school year. Students are asked to share two activities they helped their teacher with.

Slide Three: Lunch is a special part of the school day. Students share if they pack or buy, what their favorite lunch would be and what the "magic word" is.

Slide Four: The teacher is an important part of the classroom. The teacher knows all about you what do you know about your teacher? Students will make predictions.

Slide Five: Students will read the definition of a teacher and then make as many words as they can with the word TEACHER.

Slide Six: Teachers do special things for their students. The activity has the students share what they do to show their teacher they care.

Slide Seven: The 100th day of school. Students will work with the number 100.
