Friday "freebie"...Turkey time is near!

As I think of all the things I am thankful for all of you have to be one of them.  Even though I rarely hear from most of you I do go and see that you are using the things I put out.  I also love hopping around and visiting all of your blogs for good ideas (although the time is so limited!)  Here is my classroom ready for our final two days next week and a little Friday "freebie" for you! Happy weekend to you all.  I am having a 20% sale on all of my Thanksgiving and fall items.  Michele

Here are the "freebies".  These are only  two items in the packet.

Late Start...what is rigor?

I am so glad today is over.  I was totally stressed because I was on the team of ELA to provide the inservice for our Late Start today.  We decided we wanted to do a presentation that dealt with the importance of rigor in the new standards.  I thought I would share the PP I prepared for today.  It has two outstanding videos embedded in it.  The one you click the girl holding the flag and the other you click video.  If anyone takes the time to look at this or to watch the videos please comment.  Thursday tomorrow.  Time is really going too fast!!

Revitalized!

So progress reports are completed and I met with each and every parent.  Set several action plans for behavior and learning.  Exhausted but revitalized and ready to begin again tomorrow.  Won't be long and Thanksgiving will be here.  That kinda stresses me too because in 7 school days I need to get my Native and Colonial Units in.
I was busy though this weekend.  Here is a sneak preview of what I have started for December.  I will post freebies throughout the week.  Stop by and see what you find. Michele
So excited to use this.  Six countries and six holidays.  Passport, activity sheets and a craft for each one.

Always a favorite of mine.  100 pages of Gingerbread goodies related to math, reading, language, writing, word work, mapping and just plain fun!!

The December calendar will focus on number stories and identifying operations.

Let's Talk Turkey!!

I am so excited!  I just discovered, better late than never, that all back issues of the scholastic news interactive can be found and used again.  This paper from last year was perfect for today's turkey activities.  It was from November 2011.  Went to the archive and there it was, video, vocabulary and digital newspaper!  What fun!!
One child changed the wings to hold the paper.  That was even cuter in my mind.  Why didn't I think of that?

And then for our craft and writing.

Friday Freebie on Thursday...and Scarecrows!

I think these are sooooo cute and the kiddos were so motivated to write.
Now just for those of you on my blog (join if you wish)  I am putting my Scarecrow Packet up for  FREE !

I hope you will follow me if your download this!  Thanks

What fun we had creating these scarecrows.  After reading about scarecrows and  talking  about scarecrows each student added writing to attach to their creation.
This is just a wonderful selection of books on Scarecrows.  My favorite is the Scarecrow's Hat.  It is delightful and because of it's repetitive pattern the children can help read along.  I purchased this on Amazon and I am not sorry!
