Exploring Force and Motion

Students will enjoy developing understanding of key core ideas through experimentation, reflection, and vocabulary study. Although it is designed to meet the Kindergarten Next Generation Science Standards it would also be appropriate for 1st Grade. K-PS2-1, K-PS2-2
The packet begins with vocabulary cards for posting.  The vocabulary cards are colorful with pictures.  There are then 3 activities for practice with the words.
ABC Order, Syllables, Word Search

There is a poster with all of the standards listed for posting, a student cover in case you want students to collect pages as they word through the unit, a parent letter explaining what students will be covering and how they can support the learning at home and then informational text for the student.

Each standard is on a poster with pictures and complete lesson plans.
The lessons follow an IMAGIN THIS and the TEST their predictions.  There are then activities to support the lesson.

There are pictures with vocabulary for students to put their names as to their prediction.
I use sticky notes.
When they complete the experiment they might want to change their prediction.

Here are samples of PULL and there are similar ones for PUSH.

They will love experimenting with motion and speed.
