Welcome to Camp for Distance Learning or Paper Pencil

Grab your sleeping bag and a flash light.
Dress in your best camping attire.  Make a tent.
Welcome to camp!!
This resource was designed to help YOU connect with YOUR students from afar.
The slides are perfect for engaging students in reading, writing, word work and math with a camp theme!
The resource begins with text about camping..
Students use the text to report details found in the text.
Next students will read about "SMORES". Yum
The students will then write a sequence story about how to make a "SMORE"!
Can you imagine a day camping with your family or friends?
Students are asked to write their opinion about what activity would be the best to do while camping.
Students will also prepare a list of what would be needed for a camping trip.
Word Work includes using camping vocabulary to put into ABC order and to listen for syllables.
The final slide focuses on camping story problems for students to solve.
What fun!!

Bring the campground to your classroom or home!!
And almost everyone has built a fire and roasted marshmallows.

Friendship Day...Perfect for End of the Year Fun or Class Behavior Award!

Friendship Day is such a special way to build appreciation for classmates and develop a deeper understanding about making friends.
I like to think of it as BUILDING FRIENDS...NOT BULLIES!
This packet contains a mini book focused on making friends... shown here.
Enjoy these cute "friend" page toppers.

There are activities to accompany literature selections not shown in this blog.
They include Frog and Toad, Martha and George, How to Be a Friend.
Students can write about their friend and then design a cut out of their friend.

Interview a friend and then write about them as well as compare and contrast.

Sort characteristics of a friend and write about them.

Share what friends like to do together.

Where might you find a friend?
If you are being bullied WHAT TO DO!

ABC Countdown to Summer!

This ABC Countdown to summer will keep your students engaged and excited about finishing the final 26 days of school.
Each day as a THEME related to the ABC's.
There are many suggestions to each day's theme but do as little or as much as you want!!
There is a note to send home to parents AND a countdown sheet for them to follow along with.
There is a clip art bus for you to hang in your classroom and tags to post for the countdown so you students will know what is coming next.

A is for ASTRONAUT and blasting off to the new grade.
There are opportunities for them to tell why they are a STAR and what their favorite activities are.

There is an astronaut for students to color and for you to put their picture in as well as what they are looking forward to in the next grade.

Finally there is word work for your literacy center and a math game for partners.

If you have time there is an imaginary trip to space for students to read and respond to.
So are you ready?
