"OWL" bet you will enjoy using this packet to reinforce reading informational text and reporting on the key facts in the text as well as working with vocabulary and learning definitions to enhance comprehension.

Below you will see some of the colorful vocabulary available for posting.

There is also the owl craft.

I like to make a big tree on a bulletin board and then add the student's owls to it.

Informational text comes in the form of a mini book.

This is followed by reading for detail sheets where students can use the text to report on key facts and details.

There are also three print, fold and read books.

One of my favorites is Owl Babies.

Using this fiction story students can still learn about owls.

Halloween...SPOOKTACULAR Activities!

So many wonderful mini books for guided reading and activities to accompany them followed by literature suggestions and comprehension printable pages.

IN THE DARK OF THE NIGHT

This mini book focuses on nouns (Halloween characters), verbs and descriptive words.

In the dark of the night I see black bats flying.

The sheet that follows allows students to draw or write the characters in the book.

Activities include practice with parts of speech and two writing development pages.

There are also final write pages differentiated for leveled writers.

I'M NOT AFRAID OF ANYTHING!

Again students will focus on nouns, verbs and descriptive words.

I'm not afraid of the tall white mummy.

Follow the story with word work practice and two new writing activities associated with the mini story.

IN THE HAUNTED HOUSE I SEE

This adorable story focuses on number words.

Again followed by number word work and writing.

WHAT WILL I BE ON HALLOWEEN?

Students will read about costumes they might see.

The story is followed by a data collection sheet of favorite costumes.

Word work includes a making words and an activity on opposites.

Writing includes an opinion page.

There are two old ladies for your literacy center.

Students can use the centers for retelling the story or sequencing.

There are pictures of each of the items.  Just print, laminate and cut.

For individual activities there are three sequencing activities your class will love.

Especially the pull and retell.

Vocabulary is colorful and ideal for posting in your writing center or on your word wall.

I like putting the words next to the story for recognition.

It's Turkey Time...Let's Talk Turkey!

Given that it is turkey time it is the ideal time to TALK TURKEY!

Yep that mean reading informational text and then using that text to complete activities, word word and writing.

Below you will see two cute crafts to highlight student work and to decorate your room.
